Cookie policy

Which small files we store in your browser, what for, and how you control them.

In short

Few cookies, each with a reason

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser to remember something from one page to the next — for example, that you are logged in or that you prefer the Spain edition.

MigraSpace uses essential cookies (the site does not work without them), preference cookies (country and language) and, when there are ads, advertising cookies from Google. We do not sell personal data to anyone.

Essential

The ones that make the site work

They do not require consent, because without them you cannot log in, submit forms securely or stay logged in.

PHPSESSID
Keeps your session (who you are, whether you are logged in) and protects forms against forged submissions. It is deleted when you close the browser or log out.
Preferences

The ones that remember your choices

ms_pais
The edition you chose (Portugal, Spain or European Union), so the newspaper and the network show what is relevant to your country first. Lasts 1 year.
ms_lang
The language you prefer to read the site in (Portuguese, Spanish or English). Lasts 1 year.
ms_tema
The appearance you chose: paper (light), night (dark) or automatic. Lasts 1 year.
ms_feed
The feed order you chose: “For you” or “Most recent”. Lasts 1 year.

Your browser also keeps small reading preferences in local storage — for example, notices you have already closed. They never leave your device.

Advertising

Google's ads

Part of the site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are always kept apart from editorial content and labelled «Advertising».

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, or turn off third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
  • Learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising cookies are only used after you accept them in the consent message shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by deleting the site's cookies (see below) — the message will appear again.

Control

How to accept, refuse or delete

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Blocking the essential ones prevents you from logging in; the rest can be refused without losing access to the news.
